Please pray for those who are in the military and serving all over the world and often separated from their family. Please join with us to lift them before our heavenly Father for a special touch of His healing, comforting love, and ever abiding presence.

FEATURING…

WCA 10th Grade Student, Preston Witt

We are Jimmy and Stephanie Witt. Our son is Preston Witt. He is 16 years old and in the 10th grade at Western Christian Academy. He has been enrolled at WCA since the 1st grade.
We value the Christian Worldview instruction that WCA offers. Throughout the years, the staff and teachers have been crucial in Preston’s educational development. We live in Alabama, and we still feel very connected to WCA, and that is important to us. Preston thrives with homeschooling because it gives him the opportunity to pursue his many interests and gifts that God has blessed him with.
As a family we are used in different areas of ministry. Preston has helped in Children’s & Youth ministry and on the Worship team. This summer Preston and his Fine Arts team were able to perform at the Nationals in Orlando Florida. We love to take trips to new places and explore. With the flexibility of homeschooling, we are able to do what we enjoy.

Meet Preston!

I’m Preston Witt and I’m in the 10th grade.

I like WCA because I am able to work at my own pace and get more out of what I’m learning! The teachers are always there when I need help or encouragement. They send weekly messages and we do meetings every month so we stay connected! I love homeschooling with WCA because I have freedom to do all the things I love doing!

My goal after high school is to get a Business degree. I would like to own several businesses, flip houses, and own rental properties. My dad and mom invested in my first business “TYM2GRYND”. (@tym_2_grynd) It’s a concession trailer that sells specialty coffees and shaved ice. I take my concession trailer around town, and I often get invited to festivals and events. I enjoy taking Jiu Jitsu classes, I have been in martial arts since I was 4 years old. I like fishing with my friends and hanging out.

One of my favorite things to do is play the guitar, which I am able to use for ministry with the Worship team.

PARENT CORNER

Are you enjoying your children?

If you want to change the world, go home and love your family!

A Great Parent Makes Time for Fun

Lawrence Cohen, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist

“Great parents are playful parents, ones who always remember how important it is to have fun with their kids. That doesn’t mean, of course, that moms and dads need to be nonstop entertainers or amuse their kids every minute of the day. What it means is embracing the joy of your child’s world and sharing it by being part of their “play” or things that THEY enjoy!

“As we race from one event to the next, we often underestimate the value of downtime. But simple play is deeply meaningful. Early games like peekaboo and hide-and-seek teach children about attachment. Fantasy play helps children explore who they are and who they want to be. Playful wrestling builds physical confidence. Tossing a ball back and forth teaches athletic ability, sportsmanship, and cooperation. Play is also the way that children recover from life’s upsets.

“Overscheduled parents may think they don’t have time for playing with dolls, building with blocks, reading books, playing catch, skating, or just enjoying playing a game together.”

Play can actually ease the stress of our busy lives. When we engage playfully with our children, we find that we suddenly have more energy and feel better about ourselves and our kids. After all, play engages us in our child’s world, and what better way is there to forge a deep and lasting connection?”

During the holidays and always, be sure to take the time to enjoy your children!

You are creating the family fun blueprint for generations to come.

“Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas.”

STUDENT CORNER

“The real joy of Christmas comes through the slow unwrapping of God’s
greatest gift to us, Jesus Christ.”

“Unwrapping the Names of Jesus” is a blessed gift for families!

Through beautiful insight and attention to detail, every devotion deepens our understanding of who Jesus is, and why we celebrate Him not only in the Advent season, but in every season of our lives.

This is a great staple during Advent, one you will read year after year. It’s a book that invites us to rediscover the depth of Jesus’ love for us, through the understanding of His many meaningful names, which all point to the love of God the Father, through His Son, Jesus, Light of the World, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God.

Available NOW in your local Christian Bookstore or Amazon.
