Meet The Principal In Wyoming!
“I want to meet as many WCA families as I can!!!” Mr. Gillingham

Jeff Gillingham, the Principal and Administrator of WCA, and the GILLYGIRLS BAND, will be traveling through out Wyoming the month of July. See the Concert Schedule below!

The GILLYGIRLS BAND are Jeff’s daughters and WCA students. Come show your support and get to know them. You’ll be pleasantly entertained and encouraged as they share their hearts and their talents.

The GillyGirls Band, mix results in high-energy, old-time country (complete with yodeling) and gospel music. In their vintage inspired dresses and cowboy boots, these charming, young ladies bring refreshing wholesomeness to performances! The four sisters, Savannah & Morgan age 17, and Hailey & Jillian, age 15, call themselves an Americana, Bluegrass band. Growing up on a 5-Generation family ranch in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills has given them a love for all things country, and that includes traditional American music. It is easy to forget they haven’t done this for long. They make it look effortless and fun!

They all contribute vocally, in a style that makes us love tight sibling harmony. Savannah plays fiddle, sings harmonies and does arrangements for the band while Morgan plays bass and trades between lead and baritone vocals. Her younger sister, Hailey is the guitarist and sings lead and tenor vocals. Jillian, sings and plays mandolin, but can move effortlessly to bass or banjo. You are in for a treat if they perform a Capella!

The band released two albums in 2019, which brings the total to three. As well as numerous awards won through the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association, they recently received the honor of First place in a local, “Country Music Talent Search”! They have been performing since 2015, at numerous festivals, camps, churches, schools, rodeos, libraries, the World Ag Expo, historical and folklore society concerts, many private events, and on live radio as well as with the team of the KMPH Fox 26 Morning Show, based in Fresno and more. Central Californians heard them during the Fresno premiere of the Ken Burns’ PBS Documentary film “Country Music”. They impressed a full theater and producer Ken Burns himself said, “We will be seeing them at The Grand Ole Opry soon.”

They also recently won 3rd Place in the KSNU Youth Bluegrass Competition in Silver Dollar City, in Branson, Missouri.

If they are not yet scheduled to come to your town, just book an event in your community or church.

It’s Time For Our Next Virtual Field Trip!

Have You Ever Wondered How Food Goes From The Field To The Grocery Store?

Let’s go visit

BRIGHT FARMS!

It’s pesticide free and no hands ever touch their produce.

EATING FRESH IS BEST

Most salads arrive at supermarkets 5-7 days after harvest, after having travelled thousands of miles, losing vital vitamins, nutrition, and freshness along the way. Their produce is grown locally, picked at the height of freshness, and delivered to supermarkets within hours of harvest. It’s the next best thing to growing it yourself!

Bright Farms Virtual Field Trip is an interactive tour that’s designed to teach kids, parents and teachers about indoor farming!

Their Grower Charlie will take you through their greenhouse as you discover how Bright Farms brings fresh, tasty and delicious local produce to your neighborhood supermarket.

About WCA …
Western Christian Academy has been serving families for over 37 years. Distance Learning, Online education, Remote Learning, Homeschooling, whatever you call it, and just plain learning is NOT NEW to our school. We have been equipping students for many years to “think outside of the box” and to become the men and women God wants them to be, prepared to lead their families, their communities and their world.

With WCA, students are guided through the lessons at their own pace, giving them the chance to master concepts at their ability, instead of being rushed through, which makes further learning impossible.

This allows students more time when they need it but it also ensures that when a student quickly learns a topic, they are allowed to move on to the next, so no time is wasted.

WCA is a home for ideas, discovery, spiritual growth, and engagement—intellectual pursuits that our students and their families treasure. Our academic offerings are buoyed by our warm and welcoming, teachers and staff.

At WCA, students explore and extend their abilities, test their ideas, question assumptions, grapple with moral issues, develop critical thinking skills while at the same time, acquiring the vital tools to be positive and productive citizens, who are equipped to change their world. Led by exceptional and caring Christian teachers, our students are encouraged to grow and become all that God wants them to be.

So if you are looking for a fresh new start for your student/s or are already on board, it is never too late to provide hope for your students by ensuring they receive the support and individualized curriculum needed to ensure their success!

Every day is a new beginning! It’s never too late!

Parents, is your child actively engaging with his/her teachers when needing assistance?

Did you realize that all Teacher on Call students can request a pre-recorded VIDEO addressing any specific skill, so that they can watch it repeatedly to reinforce that skill or concept?

Also, your student can request assistance via phone calls, email, messaging, SKYPE (with or without video), Google Meet, or any other means of communication.
“Does your child know the right question to ask? Does your student know the right person to request help from… to get the right answers? “

Our teachers are available to assist our students with instruction, mentoring, and the development of life skills through the academic process.
If your student is struggling, please encourage them to ask for help!

WCA is here for YOUR STUDENTS.

Meet the Staff
Introducing WCA Math Teacher…
Janet Chung
My name is Janet Chung and I am a Math teacher at Western Christian Academy. I have an Associative Degree from Porterville College (CA) where I grew up.

After transferring to Colorado Christian University, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I almost minored in science and music but instead minored in Biblical studies. Next, I earned a Master’s Degree in secondary Education at Arizona University.

I enjoy learning and am inquisitive about the world around me. I research everything new that I see and do not know about. For hobbies, I enjoy gardening and hiking. I also run 5 K Marathon races.

I love God, the Bible, and my local church. At my church I have helped with Vacation Bible Study and teaching Sunday School as well as helped lead the music portion of our worship service. My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11.

My husband Jeff is a firefighter for a local volunteer fire department. We have been happily married for nearly 12 years. We also have a dog whose name is Buddybear.
